chaz bundick is back with his new album, anything in return, at the end of the month. he’s dropped a new tune from said album in the form of a video and as always, the music is smooth grooviness meant to make you drift off into a happy place. www.toroymoi.com
huzzah! a new album by the electronic jewel of south carolina is on the horizon. with his track record, it’s almost a guarantee good to great music will be unleashed come next january. the first single proves as much. “so many details” has r&b flair and is as smooth a baby’s bottom. www.facebook.com/toroymoi
toro y moi has always done well with his music videos. his latest is my favorite thus far. it features a couple of ghosts reeking havoc on three dudes who dare enter their haunted abode. it’s campy and silly and makes the afterlife seem like a pretty good time. enjoy.
for those of you who’ve been loyally following my finking, first off thank you and secondly, you know i love me my toro y moi. the southern electro pop wiz is gettin funky now and i like it. this new track is from his sophomore album releasing next february. i’m glad to hear he’s not stuck in the electronic sample genre he has no doubt schooled, but moving in a broader direction. the boy has got range and clearly can groove with the best of them. toroymoi.blogspot.com
this song is definitely one of my favorite tracks on his album. this video is a clever story of a young girl getting a little somepin somepin slipped into her diner coffee. the older woman cast is well and some of her more satanic faces are certainly images i wouldn’t want floating around my head at night. enjoy!
congratulations chaz bundick for making my song of the day list twice. go ahead and give yourself a cookie. i’ve been listening to this jam non-stop and enjoying it so much i’ve decided it’s perfect to make friday friggin fabulous. chaz bundick, known to us as toro y moi, has departied from his chillout electronic vibage and gone retro lo-fi rock and it’s a keeper indeed.
people are dicks, even towards lovable indie electro artists. after toro y moi’s brooklyn show friday night, front man chaz bundick’s car was broken into. his passport, some gear, and laptop were stolen. the robbery forced him to cancel a string of shows scheduled over the weekend, today, and tomorrow. the tour will resume wednesday in chicago. what the hell asshole/assholes…. remember a little thing called karma? hope it comes to bite you in the ass, stranded in some distant country without your passport.
the heist and the accomplice’s lead singer, chaz bundick, released his solo album causers of this. it’s fuzzy lo-fi awesomeness and uniquely magnificent. rumor has it he’ll be releasing not one, but two toro y moi albums in 2010. can’t wait.
