it’s 2002. the texas boys release their fourth album. girls can tell was such a good album and to everyone’s delight, they followed it with an even better one. their all american indie rock sound has charmed us all for over a decade now. here’s to the best use of a utensil for a band name ever.

broken bells, made up of the shins’ james mercer and danger mouse , have annouced their first shows as the new band. the first is tonight, yes tonight, in los angeles, and then they’ll travel to france, england, and finally return to austin, texas to play with spoon and the walkmen as part of the npr showcase concert. the album drops march 9th, a mere 18 days away. yipeeeeee!
