the man just gives me more and more reasons to love him. he’s got a new holiday ep coming out next month with all sorts of morose titles that i couldn’t be more tickled with, not to mention the album cover is pretty genius. i’m sure we’re all full of turkey and stuffing and hopefully doing a lot of jack sh*t today, at most putting up a christmas tree. here’s to the official kick off for the christmas season! www.gruffrhys.com

gruff rhys – shark ridden waters

if you are like me, you have a soft spot for super furry animals. their front man, gruff rhys has ventured on solo and side projects before (neon neon, which was incredible), and now he’s venturing on his own again. he released this new solo track on his website a few days ago, stating, ““SHARK ATTACK! help! a song in the form of a large silver shark was discovered yesterday off the west coast of wales . . . a mysterious recording was made of it as it swam aggressively past a miked up dilapidated wooden fishing trawler, like some old boat off jaws.” if that isn’t a strong sell, i don’t know what is. the track is quirky and great and everything you’d expect from an indie legend. i also happen to really like sharks… but that’s a side note.
