song of the day

grimes – visions – genesis

montreal’s claire boucher just signed with 4ad and dropped a new single from her forthcoming album. the lady is clearly on a roll and the anticipation for the album’s release next month is high. “genesis” is another dreamy synth wonder with massive wings. it’s playful and her voice, as always, is too loveable for words. www.myspace.com/boucherville

song of the day

grimes – visions – oblivion

here’s a track from montreal’s super cute claire boucher’s new album, due this upcoming january on arbutus records. it was recorded on garageband, just like all her previous work. this single is both light and obscure, but ultimately incredibly catchy. the hype has been loud, but it sounds like the girl is deserving. www.myspace.com/boucherville

song of the day

majical cloudz – majical cloudz ii – dream world (featuring grimes)

this monreal project comprised of pop winds’ devon welsh and matthew e. duffy released a new album early this summer. i loved the track when i first heard it, but it’s been lost in all the jumbo of my music collection and i have literally just recovered it for all our delights. it’s dreamy with a capital D, as the song title would suggest, and features the vocal angelic-ness of grimes’ claire boucher. it’s the perfect way to start off the week. www.myspace.com/majicalcloudz

song of the day

grimes – dark bloom – vanessa

canada’s claire boucher has a new split ep coming out next month with d’eon. this song is a little more polished than her previous stuff, but it’s just as creepy and wonderfully moody. as always, her voice shines. the young lady never ceases to mesmerize and enchant. here come the goosebumps. www.myspace.com/boucherville
