flashback of the week

david bowie – let’s dance

it’s 1983. the english legend releases his fifteenth album and still knocks ‘em dead.. i’m sure i don’t need to get into the all logistics of his awesomeness. if you don’t like david bowie, you’re a square. there, i said it and i mean it. this is my favorite song of the glam man, as i’m sure it is for many of you. put on your red shoes and dance the blues.

peace on earth/little drummer boy ft. will ferrell and john c. reilly

here’s a christmas gift for you via funny or die. will ferrell and john c. reilly remake the 1950′s classic made famous by david bowie and bing crosby. this was directed by two friends of mine and they’ve certainly created a new christmas classic to rival the original. it’s wonderfully awkward and full of chuckles. merry christmas and enjoy.

designer for bjork, david bowie, and the duke spirit commits suicide

40-year-old alex mcqueen, acclaimed fashion designer, was found hanging at his home this morning. he designed the cover for bjork’s homogenic and david bowie’s earthling. mostly recently he worked with the duke spirit and lady gaga. he was the head designer of givency in the late 90s and then became creative director of gucci for some time. queen elizabeth II even made him a commander for the british empire for his fashion leadership in 2003. he was a genius and an icon and he will be greatly missed.
