lux – we are not the same – the window

this seattle duo were featured on seattle’s kexp music blog and we were immediately smitten with this track from their debut album. there’s a lot of 80′s  influence in this fuzzy and synth heavy song that are irresistible. “the window” sounds like it could have been left off the drive soundtrack. sold? we are. www.facebook.com/luxkids

bear driver – enemy

this london gang is dropping their self-titled debut album this june and this single is out next month. despite the song’s title, this track is sunny and warm. this is straightforward indie pop rock – a combination of words that makes me squirm, but when it’s done well, it’s pretty darn swell. www.beardriver.com

video of the week

electric guest – mondo – this head i hold

this song has been everywhere due to its supreme catchiness and ultimate bad-assness. now superstar director keith schofield, who brought us duck sauce’s unforgettable “big bad wolf”, has achieved another genius feat directing the l.a.’s duo’s hit track. it’s the best five minutes you’ll have today. guaranteed.

stella – detox

i have found little to nothing about this grecian lady on the world wide web. i know she’s also a visual artist and has sung for expert medicine, another grecian act. that’s the extent of my knowledge. this here is a solo demo of hers that immediately caught my ear. it’s a downtempo tune that’s short and sweet and all kinds of catchy. www.soundcloud.com/stellaonly
