no more white stripes

well, meg and jack are ending their rein as rock’s power duo. their website states, “the reason is not due to artistic differences or lack of wanting to continue, nor any health issues as both meg and jack are feeling fine and in good health. it is for a myriad of reasons, but mostly to preserve what is beautiful and special about the band and have it stay that way… the white stripes do not belong to meg and jack anymore. the white stripes belong to you now and you can do with it whatever you want. the beauty of art and music is that it can last forever if people want it to. thank you for sharing this experience. your involvement will never be lost on us and we are truly grateful.” very eloquent kids, very eloquent.

dry the river – history book

these boys popped their music cherries staring in punk bands in the past, but you’d never know from the sounds of it now. this is gorgeous, dripping with honey, harmonious music fans of fleet foxes and bon iver will wet themselves over. they are based in london and their lead singer is norwegian. they have been flying stealthily under the radar for some time, until as of late. if there is a box of kleenex nearby, grab it fast. www.drytheriver.com
