this supergroup is releasing their third album next week and damn, if it ain’t another great accomplishment. we all know and love them, and for good reason. they are as solid as any band can be. not much more needs to be said, but get the album. it’s another winner. there. love.

guards – resolution of one

this new york band is keeping themselves shrouded in secrecy and i’m a sucker for the mysterious ones. these guys have nailed the 60′s throwback and made it their own and they can fancy themselves a new fan in me. they have collaborated with fellow new yorkers cults on their self-titled debut ep as well as chairlift’s caroline polacheck and it’s rockin debut. don’t be a fool, download their free ep at their bandcamp.

hoodoo gurus – stoneage romeos – i want you back

it’s 1984. this aussie group releases their debut album and college kids abound had a new band to be cool about and have since become one of australia’s most beloved bands. i was in elementary when this song out, but ironically enough, did discover this band when i was in college myself. they are set to release their ninth studio album this year.
