tortoise – millions now living will never die – glass museum

it’s 1996. this chicago band releases their second album after replacing their bassist and there is no sophomore slump here. this album made 90′s music waves and 16 years later with six albums to their name, they have etched a solid place in experimental indie rock history. if you don’t know, now you know you. sit back, smoke a little somthin somethin and enjoy.

ratatat – lp4 – mahalo

this ny duo released their fourth album last week and this video for their beachy track aptly named “mahalo” is a peaceful ride along a southeast asian river. evan mast of the band went to vietnam and laos and shot this beautiful and simple gem for us to enjoy.

social studies – wind up wooden heart – hollah boys

this san francisco quartet has been receiving rave review after rave review and for good reason, they are indie pop at its best. artful and poppy in the most endearing way, this song is catchy in its own special right. they’ve got a new record coming out next month and it’s sure to be gem. spend your sunday hollahin at the boys. socialstudiesband.com
