flashback

roy orbison – running scared

it’s 1961. this song reaches number one the billboard top 100 and nearly 50 years later i still love it. roy is just that good. i grew up listening to this legend and my god, i hope 50 years from now i’ll still be hip enough to dig it as much as i have for last two decades. this clip is from a dutch tv show in 1965. it’s incredible.

video of the week

inu – monster – stephen colbert

inu is the new project fronted by san francisco producer, count (the jokes are endless). he’s produced for some heavy weights – radiohead, new order, and lyrics born to name a few and this video is a full out tribute to the super-human stephen colbert and it’s done incredibly well. i love me anything stephen colbert and wouldn’t you know, i like the tuange, too. enjoy.

song of the day

hard mix – in and out of my life – alright

this unsigned south carolina teenager has less than a 1,000 friends on his myspace page and it’s a shame. this teenager is good, damn good. he’s self-proclaimed himself as “new-age moby” and i’ll forgive him for it. this single from his new album coming out later this year samples marvin gaye and tammi terrell’s “if i could build my whole world around you” and it’s more than alright.
