the stone roses – i wanna be adored

it’s 1989. i’ve just acid-washed my levis and tucked my movie stub for say anything into my back pocket to remind me i’ve got to give peter gabriel another listen. michael jackson was just named the king of pop and tom cruise sure can make a mean cocktail even though he can be awfully mean to his idiot savant of a brother. it’s a happy world with my new nintendo game boy, and disney keeps knocking it out of the park. look at this stuff, isn’t it neat, wouldn’t you think my collection’s complete… i can’t stop singing that damn song and boy, what a funny rick moranis is shrinking his kids. oh. wait. not so happy world for ted bundy and the students at Tiananmen Square and what is this i keep reading about something called a greenhouse effect…? but we didn’t start the fire and the president doesn’t like broccoli, so what? just hope that wall in berlin finally falls. with woodstock ’89 around the corner, shouldn’t we all just be adored?

song of the day
